Regular scheduled meeting CIDS. We plan to have a diverse panel of our members to answer questions about our favorite subject- Daylilies! Tips on care, selection feeding, dividing , hybridzing. Everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask! Rochester Public Library 7:00 P. M.

Special meeting to discuss having a Daylily Expo/ Garden Walk on June 26th & 27th. Also to be discussed will be the CIDS Dollar program and how it works. Rochester Public Library 7:00PM.

Our Favorite event! The Members Only Sale! The club buys, divides and offers new varieties of Daylilies to paid up members at our annual auction. Come check it out. Great buys are available. Generous Members donate wonderful selections from their gardens. This is an excellent way to get newer daylilies at affordable prices. We are also having a Pot Luck Dinner. The Club is providing chicken and table service – please bring a covered dish to share. Come on- be creative!! See you there. Rochester Public Library, 1:00 p.m.
June 5 2010 (Saturday)
CIDS Bus Trip to St Louis. We are visiting Wine Country Gardens in Defiance Mo. and having lunch there. Then we will travel to Sugar Creek Garden in Kirkwood, Mo and end our wild spending spree at Garden Heights Nursery in Richmond Heights Mo. The bus plans to leave Springfield at 7:00 AM and return by 5:00PM. The cost is $25.00 per person. Call Sandy Gabriel 498-7320 with any questions. Members will be sent a sign up notification. Please invite your friends! Please send your checks in as soon as possible to hold a seat. Make checks to CIDS Send to 7800 Van Hook Dr. Rochester, Il 62563. All of these gardens have websites- visit them and make your shopping lists.
June 26 2010 Daylily Expo (Saturday) Cids is hosting a Daylily exhibit/ show at Washington Park Botanical Gardens. The public is invited. Hours are 10:00 a.m.-3:00p.m. Daylily scapes and buds will be on display. This is a non judged show. There will be video seminars on Landscaping with Daylilies, How to plant Daylilies and Hybridizing tips. Design arrangements featuring daylilies will be featured. Drawings for free Daylilies are also to be held at this event. Please come and enjoy our favorite flower with us.
July 10 2010 – Tours of Members Gardens
CIDS members will meet at Washington Park Botanical Garden at 8:30 AM Saturday 7/10/10 to view the gardens planted by club members. The donated plants are doing wonderful and we should see good bloom this year. We will make attempts to get everything labeled correctly this year. We will then drive to Barb and Bob Henry’s house at 46 Mishawaka Rochester, Il 62563 to see their garden. Next stop will be the Gwen Podeschi Garden at 412 W 2nd St. Taylorville, Il. 6268. The final stop (and watering hole!) will be Dick and Sandy Gabriel’s garden at 7800 Van Hook Dr. Rochester, Il. 62563. Lunch and drinks will be served there. The club is providing food, drink and table service. All you need to do is show up! The complete address for each garden has been included so in case you cannot do the whole tour you can Google Map the ones you can attend. Hope to see you there at all the sites!

Daylily Sale, Washington Park, Botanical Garden, 12:00 Noon until 3:00 p.m. Many different forms, sizes and colors available for sale. Free admission and open to the Public. Members of the club are always happy to give planting advice.
September 10 2010 Friday 7:00PM
Bob Faulkner, a noted daylily grower and hybridizer is to be our guest speaker. He is from Dayton, Ohio. His interests lie in bitones, bicolors and reverse bitones. Visit his website and check his seedlings out. The public is invited. The meeting is to be held at Rochester Community Building, Rochester, Il. Sept 10th at 7:00 PM.
